Camping on Hvar – Basic information about camping on the island

In Croatia, about 2 million people are spending their holidays in camps, many of which are camping on Hvar. I found 11 campsites on the island that mostly gravitate on the western side of Hvar. Starting from east to west you will get basic information about each camp.

Also, you can find reference prices represent the total cost of the motorhome, plus electricity, plus local taxes included for 2 adults for one night in peak season. Prices are approximate because they depend on many different factors but can serve as a rough orientation.

Camp Mlaska

Campsite Mlaska is located on the eastern part of the island of Hvar, 4km away from the Sućuraj ferry port in the sandy beach bay. A modern auto camp (half naturistically), completely renovated, offers tent and trailer locations, as well as bungalows with 4-6 beds.

In the camp, there are sandy and rocky beaches and concreted sunbathing areas. Guests have at their disposal a restaurant and a small shop.

Petarčica camp is located in the bay of the same name in Zavala, on the south side of the island of Hvar. As part of the camp, there are also apartments close to the beach, all with sea views. Access to the campsite is through the tunnel of Pitve where traffic is allowed for vehicles max. width 2.3m and height up to 2.6m.

Camp Holiday is a 15-minute walk away from Jelsa. The campsite lies by the sea and rocky beach and in the perfect shade of pine trees. Only 200 meters from the campsite is the beautiful bay of Mina with a sand beach, which is suitable especially for children.

Camp “Mina” is located on a peninsula, and most of its 2-hectare area is covered with pine forest. It is about 500 from Jelsa and about 20 meters from the sea. It is surrounded by rocky, pebble and sandy beaches especially suitable for children.

The camp has 200 places, electricity connection, hot water, toilets, a shop, a bar and a sandy beach in front of the park. In the vicinity of the camp, there are tennis courts and mini-golf courts.

Camp Grebišće

This first 4 stars family camp on the island of Hvar is located about twenty minutes of pleasant walks away from the picturesque historic core of the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar. Besides the quality and the many amenities, the camp is thrilled with ecological awareness, preserved Mediterranean nature, and the sea and the island of Brac. Camp on top-equipped parcels in the shade of pine forests, olives, and mandarin.

If you are looking for accommodation in the first row to the sea, book a Comfort Sea plot of 50 to 100 m2, equipped with sun loungers, water and electricity. Near the sea there are also the Comfort parcels, De lux and De lux large parcels, while Basic parcels are set in the Mediterranean greenery of pine trees and mandarin trees.

If you prefer a stay in the Bungalow, choose a vacation in a stone house in the tranquility of a pine forest equally suitable for families, romantic couples and hedonists.

FKK auto camp Nudist is located in the peaceful and wooded bay of the sunniest island on the Adriatic and about 1 km away from the small fishing village of Vrboska. It is located directly on the coast, in the area surrounded by forests, overlooking the island of Brac.

The camp can accommodate up to 470 guests, and its 800-meter long rocky beach is exclusively for naturists. In addition to its own beach, there is an ala carte restaurant, grocery store, fridge-cassette, tents and wagon trolleys, and comfortable sanitary facilities. In the immediate vicinity, you can take advantage of various sports activities such as sailing, paddling, underwater fishing, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, tennis, and skiing on the sea.

Camp Paklina

Auto camp Paklina is located on the southern part of island Hvar, near Ivan Dolac, 16 km away from Jelsa. On the southern side of the island, you will have to take the Pitve tunnel, which is 1.4km long. Only vehicles up to 2.3m in width and 2.6m in height can pass through it.

Camping Paklina offers 40 camping pitches, mostly suitable for tents. Road to reach the camp is quite narrow and steep, therefore not best suited for campers. Pitches have electricity connection. Sanitary facilities are small but tidy. It is possible to rent a refrigerator and use a shared large barbecue place.

Camp Lili

Camp Lili is located on the southern part of Hvar island near Jagodna. It is 2 km away from Ivan Dolac, in a direction towards Sveta Nedjelja. The camp is 18km from the town of Jelsa, to which you will have to take a tunnel which is 1.4km long. Only vehicles up to 2.3m wide and 2.6m height can pass through it.

Pinewoods is providing the camp with great shade, its pitches are arranged on terraces. Beach in the camp is partially stoned, partially graveled. In camp you can find a mini shop with homemade specialties, camp owners go every day to Jelsa and they will be happy to bring you any necessities. Novelty is a bakery in the camp.

Camp has two sanitary blocks, which are not the newest, but tidy and clean. There is always available hot running water and toilet paper, shampoo for hands.

Camp owners also rent 15 apartments. You can also arrange a half board meal.

Camp Jurjevac

Camp Jurjevac is located in the center of Stari Grad in Hvar, on the right bank of the bay, only 500m from the stone beach. It is part of the Helios tourist complex, where you can rent a bungalow or stay in one of their hotels.

Pitches are mostly shaded with pine trees, some pitches have a connection to electricity. Camp has two sanitary blocks that have not been renovated yet, having the place for cleaning the dishes, clothes and chemic toilet.

While camp is located so close to the city, you will have no problem finding a shop and restaurant close by.

Camp Mala Milna

Camping Mala Milna is located below the main road Stari Grad – Hvar, 6km before the town of Hvar. It is located next to the beach in pine wood that covers about half of the camp. Beach is 500m long and has two pebbled bays, and a small part is stoned.

Camping Mala Milna has about 80 pitches arranged on terraces that are most suitable for campers with tents, while pitches for campers and caravans are arranged by the sea.

In season 2016 sanitary facilities have been modernized. Camp has a bar and a common grill that can be used by any of the camping guests. The nearest shop is in the town, as well as many restaurants.

Camp Vira

Camping on Hvar Camp Vira

The Campsite Vira is 4 km away from the town of Hvar and has been partially renovated in recent years. The camp offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation and fun. It is one of the few campsites with four stars in Central and Southern Dalmatia.

The campsite is arranged in pine woods that offer lots of shade in hot summers. Pitches are arranged on terraces – 88 arranged pitches are mostly intended for campers and caravans, while 75 smaller bit pitches are great for campers with tents. Guest can with supplement payment rent a refrigerator and get access to wifi.

The main beach in Vira camp is a beautiful gravel bay, while the rest of the beaches are rocky. There is a bar and restaurant on the beach, as well as an animation center in the summer. It is possible to rent pedaling, canoe and SUP boards.

For recreation, it is possible to play volleyball and mini golf, children have a smaller playground. Also, the smaller shop is in camp.

Vela Stiniva has no place for camping, but campers from nearby camps are always welcome.
