Jelsa – Small town nearby

Jelsa is a small town closest to Vela Stiniva Bay, only 20 kilometers away on the state road towards the town of Hvar. From the bay you have 3.3 km to the state road, and when you go to the west towards Jelsa waiting for you 5 km old and narrow roads. After you pass the hamlet Poljica, the road is new and wide.

In Jelsa, you will be able to shop and have fun. If you need a doctor, dentist or a pharmacist you will find them in Jelsa. There are a post office, banks, and ATMs. Also, in Jelsa is the nearest gas station.

You have to supply yourself

Once you’ve settled nicely into our apartment in Vela Stiniva you must face the fact that you have to eat and drink. If you do not have anything with you, you can go to a small restaurant on the coast and eat pizza. Or go to the nearest shop on the main road 2-3 km to the east. There you can buy meat and dairy products, fruits and vegetables, juices, beer and the like.

But for the right shopping, where you have a wide range of products and a more affordable price, you have to go to Jelsa. In the center of Jelsa, there is a large parking lot, from which everything is within 100 meters. Next, to the parking lot are the fish market, and fruit stores and a little further are three supermarkets. The most famous is the Konzum supermarket, the largest retailer in Croatia. Also, I recommend butcher Pivac, which is located at the bus station for always fresh and good meat.

In relation to the continent, the prices are quite high but considering that this is an island and that is strong demand it is quite normal.

In your apartment, you have enough space to store your supplies for a few days, and if that wouldn’t be enough you would get extra space.

You have to fun yourself

In Jelsa, you can go to a good restaurant, pizzeria, nightclub or bar, rent boats, bicycles or motorbikes, arrange an excursion but I would recommend two things: ice cream and adventure park.

I have never eaten so good ice cream as in Jelsa. Maybe I’m too subjective but I invite you to try yourself. There is a huge choice of flavors, the presentation is spectacular, the prices are acceptable. Kids will be thrilled.

The small adventure park offers fun activities that you may never have experienced like paintball, splat master, cage ball, battle archery, and live table football. In addition, some of the most popular sports activities are offered, such as beach volleyball, badminton, bowling, etc.

The most common guests are families, groups, and individuals looking for an adventure and a different kind of entertainment.

The park is located in a forest that provides shelter from the strong sunshine. The sea is just a 5-minute walk away so you can swim or have a drink at the bar after the game.
